The History of Kappa Kappa Gamma 1870-1970: VIII. New Horizons in Philanthropy 1950-1960

The eighth section of the history of Kappa describes the development of Kappa's philanthropies. Research grants were established in this era, the Kappa Rehabilitation Services took place at the 1952 Convention, and a Rehabilitation Services Scholarship was awarded for the first time in 1952. The same year saw the purchase of Fraternity Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. At the 1954 convention, the Constitution, Bylaws, and Standing Rules were again revised. Increased Fraternity criticism necessitated the creation of the Research chairman position, and in 1957 the Chapter Keystones, What Every Kappa Should Know, and Practices and Procedures were published.
