The history of the Eta chapter is detailed in this essay. Founded by eight charter members in 1875 at the University of Wisconsin, Eta established rooms at the ladies' hall. Eta was the first ladies' fraternity on campus, and they faced uncharitableness and were accused of running literary societies in the interests of Kappa. The faculty and student body caused Eta to remain small, until recently when Eta has established herself as a happy chapter of kindred spirits.
