Grand Secretary Carla Sargent writes to the chapter delegates attending the 1898 National Convention on the Beta Beta chapter pending motion. Sargent advises that the matter cannot be discussed nor voted upon at convention. There is a note on the back, Plaintiffs' Exhibit 22, with descriptive information, 'Convention no jurisdiction.' Presumably this letter served as evidence in the Beta Beta chapter lawsuit against the fraternity.
