Poison Ring


Carved emerald and diamond poison ring, a type of ring popular in Europe during the 16th century, and accompanying floral embellished box. The ring features a carving of Minerva on the emerald. The bezel of the ring opens to reveal a compartment that could be used to hold poison or another substance. This ring was purchased in Italy by Beatrice Woodman.
