Alice was the only president to pass away while in office, after keeping the Fraternity alive and well during the Great Depression. Her years of experience in Fraternity government made her the perfect choice to take over for her predecessor, Florence Tomlinson Meyers Wallace. During her term, the History of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity, 1870-1930 was printed, and a whopping eight new chapters were installed. Alice passed away of a heart attack at the age of 47, while visiting a Chi sister in Connecticut. A bed at the University of Minnesota Hospital was endowed by the Fraternity in her honor.
