Jean's 30 years of Fraternity service was rewarded with her election to the highest Fraternity office. As a young woman, she served Delta Upsilon Chapter as Pledge Advisor and President of the Atlanta Alumnae Association. She then continued to serve as Mu Province Director of Chapters, assistant to President Alexander and Barbeck, Vice President, and Director of Chapters. Jean felt the Heritage Museum was significant to the Fraternity-wide sense of history and culture, and created the vision of a historic Headquarters, meant for preserving Kappa legacies as well as a capable business center. Her love of Greek philosophy pushed her to work with Mary Turner Whitney on the reprinting of the Book of Ritual in 1972.
