In her greeting, Grand President Charlotte Barrell calls for each and every Kappa to "crush out that antagonism between society, which is so justy censured by those outside the Greek world." "Let us not forget our womanhood," she asks, encouraging chapters to adopt formalized plans for their events and academic schedules. She also expresses her hopes that every chapter will be well-represented at the National Convention of 1888, and that more sub-conventions may be planned in the interim.
