Amy Lyon to Mu, Epsilon, and Delta Chapters Letter 1, c. May 1898

Amy Lyon of the Beta Beta chapter writes an appeal to Mu, Epsilon and Delta chapters regarding the Grand Council action against Beta Beta chapter. It has been alleged the Grand Council has attacked the standing of St. Lawrence University, as well as the Beta Beta chapter members' character. Lyon asks for copies of correspondence and documents about the removal of the Beta Beta charter, as proof. Former Grand President Tade Hartsuff Kuhns is advising them on this matter. Lyon observes that four years ago, the Grand Council concentrated the fraternity power in large Eastern colleges, and Adrian College almost lost their charter (in 1894). Lyon asks for active members, prominent alumnae, and convention delegates' addresses. Lyon speculates 'libellous' charges have been made.
