Richard Ellsworth to Williston Manley Letter, June 15 1898

Brooklyn Daily Eagle Editorial Board member Richard Ellsworth writes candidly to Williston Manley (editor of the St. Lawrence Plaindealer) about the Beta Beta chapter charter troubles and their strategy. Ellsworth seems to have insider information on a previous matter involving Wight and the fraternity officers. Ellsworth encouraged journalist Chester Lord to emphasize an inflammatory charge in a printed letter, and is making 500 copies of it. Ellsworth encloses a copied letter from Grand Secretary Carla Sargent to Beta Beta's Daisy Jones. The letter is also available.
