Marin County Residents in Cement Gully During Protest Photograph, 1973

Marin County, California residents climbed into a cement gully to protest and demonstrate their disapproval of the project. The residents had previously protested and failed to prevent the previously free-flowing stream from being developed into a cement gully. Kappas involved in the protest included Patricia Larry Arrigoni, Martha Kent Jones, Leonore Upham Russell and Cornelia Bristow Busse. This photograph was featured on page 34 of the Fall 1973 issue and on page 175 of the Fall 1977 issue of The Key.
