Dressed in white uniforms, Elizabeth Barkley (center) inspects the work of Anna Hennings (left) rolling bandages for the Red Cross in Washington D.C. as another Red Cross Nurse looks on. Barkley became the second lady of the United States when she married Vice President Alben W. Barkley. This photograph was featured in the April 1951 issue of The Key.
