Salome Bixby Ross Demaree, an active member of the Audubon Society and the American Birding Association, gives a tour of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. She was the top birdwatcher in the state of Arizona, and has co-authored a book on the subject, "The Annotated Checklist of the Birds of Maricopa County." This photograph was featured on page 15 of the Summer 1994 issue of The Key.
