Beatrice Woodman with French Children Photograph 5, 1949


Beatrice Woodman poses with the girls who were sent to Cabourg, France, by the Boston and Detroit Alumnae Associations during her visit to France in 1949. In the front row are Monique Roussel, Josette Jore, and Jacqueline Suardi. In the back row are Jacqueline Sacre, Cecile Sorel, Woodman, Nicole Serre, and Monique Rebecchi. Woodman is chairman of the Dorothy Canfield Fisher French Relief Project, which from 1946-1952 provided aid to French children affected by World War II. This photograph was featured on page 42 of the February 1950 issue of The Key.
