Women Sit at the Hearthstone Opening Dedication Photograph, October 13, 1938

Women sit in the living room of the Hearthstone at its dedication in 1938. Founding member Mary Louise Bennett Boyd is seated in the middle row, sixth from left. Alba Bales, the first manager of the Hearthstone, is seated in the middle row, eighth from left. Many of the women are from the Delta Epsilon chapter at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. The image was featured on pg. 77 of the Autumn 1963 issue of The Key.
