Gamma Eta Members in Dust Masks Photograph, 1980

Members of Gamma Eta chapter wear dust masks following the May 18, 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens which dropped a half inch of volcanic ash in the area of the University. Finals were optional for all students that semester due to the possibility of health hazards caused by the fallen ash. This photograph was featured on pg. 30 of the Fall 1980 issue of The Key and on pg. 156 of the History 2000 book.
