Margaret Hillis On Stage Photograph, c. 1989


Margaret Hillis smiles and holds her baton after conducting a concert of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, which she founded in 1957. Hillis received an Alumnae Achievement Award in 1978 for her musical career, which also included a stint as an advisor to the National Council on the Arts, appointed by President Reagan. This photograph was featured in the Fall/Winter 1989 issue of The Key.
