Ruth Holden and Tara Owen in Classroom Photograph, 1985


Ruth Johnson Holden is the cofounder of Phonic Ear, Inc. Ruth designed hearing instruments and FM systems for hearing impaired children. She poses with Tara Owens, a hearing-impaired student, who is modeling the Phonic Ear. Ruth was also elected to the board of trustees of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf in Washington, DC. A portion of this photograph was featured on page 40 of the Spring 1986 issue of The Key.
