Susan Black received an Alumnae Achievement Award at the 1980 National Convention in West Palm Beach, Florida, to honor her distinguished judicial career. Black was the first woman to serve as a federal judge in Florida and was later elevated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
