On the 60th anniversary of the founding of Beta Phi chapter, an ambitious expansion and remodelling project was launched to modernize the chapter house. The house in Missoula, Montana was purchased in 1932. Construction on the new addition began on July 1, 1969. In the interim, Beta Phi members lived in dormitories or apartments . The beautiful finished building includes a large dining room, guest suite, kitchen breakfast bar, and an extra guest lavatory. The dormitory contains 16 beds, seven bedrooms, and new closets. The senior room, balcony room, and three other bedrooms remain. In total, the chapter house can house 42-46 women. Credit for the project goes to house board chairman Kathleen Homes Schwanke and fellow members of the board.
