In this first portion of a three-part-series, this report details the eras many changes to the college experience. While there are twice the number of students seeking a college education now as there were in 1960, the number of colleges has only increased by 25%. Universities are changing their admission policies, many are more selective, and some have begun to question the need for testing. In addition, college students are being given increased control over their curriculums and the cost of education has risen dramatically.
