San Diego and La Jolla Kappa alumnae have served as one of two non-professional groups asked to become members of the San Diego Commission on Rehabilitative Services. The Commision aims to make the public aware of San Diego's rehabilitative needs and to promote action where action is needed. The commission's first program was the Senior Aide Program. In addition to volunteering for the program, Kappa alumnae have manned the physical medicine booth at the Health Fair and acted as hostesses and registrars for the joint seminar held by the San Diego Chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association and Community Welfare Council.
