We Seek to Serve: Gamma Theta Helps the Needy in Des Moines

The Revitalization Corps began at Drake University in March of 1969 when two students began to tutor disadvantaged students from Des Moines' inner-city. Today, the Revitalization Corps is a primary student-directed volunteer service offering 15 programs ranging from tutoring to counseling former mental health patience. The majority of Gamma Theta Kappas who work with the Corps take part in the tutoring program. Jan Keny directs and runs Youth Recreation, one of the Corps' 15 programs which places volunteers in school, settlement houses, and YMCA's through Des Moines to lead and supervise recreational activities. This article on Gamma Theta Chapter work with the Revitalization Corps is continued on page 55.
