The 1976 Candlelight Banquet featured an address by Marian Schroeder Graham and a toast from Marjorie Cross Bird. The Candlelight Banquet service began in 1935 at the Alpha Province Convention. Grand President Charlotte Ware passed one of her candlesticks to a delegate from the oldest chapter and one to the youngest, symbolizing the eternal flame lighting the way for each generation.
