The 1954 Candlelight Banquet featured poached salmon and filet mignon. The address was given by Martha Cox, titled "The Stars Still Shine." The Candlelight Banquet service began in 1935 at the Alpha Province Convention. Grand President Charlotte Ware passed one of her candlesticks to a delegate from the oldest chapter and one to the youngest, symbolizing the eternal flame lighting the way for each generation.
