The 1960 Candlelight Banquet featured a keynote address from fraternity ritualist Martha Galleher Cox. The Candlelight Banquet service began in 1935 at the Alpha Province Convention. Grand President Charlotte Ware passed one of her candlesticks to a delegate from the oldest chapter and one to the youngest, symbolizing the eternal flame lighting the way for each generation.
