DescriptionScott, a librarian from the Virginia State Library, charged Mary Stewart Field a $2.50 fee for use of the archives. Mary wanted to join the Daughters of the Revolution, and in the process, pieced together parts of her family history. One great, great grandfather, Samuel Walker, was a lieutenant in Virginia, writing treaties with the Native Americans. A second great, great grandfather, William Moore, who served in the battles of Cowpens and Eutaw Springs.
