May Alice Gray Dunscombe crowns Peggy Emmons Geddie with a straw hat decorated with directory pages, silk fleur-de-lis, and an owl perched on a telephone. Peggy originated the idea for the Houston Alumnae board to "Reach out and touch someone," and call each Kappa in the area, encourage her to join Kappa activities, verify names and addresses, find out how each Kappa was doing, and how the alumnae group might help.
