Gamma Theta chapter combined a bike-a-thon and balloon derby to raise money for the Convalescent Home for Children in Des Moines. The balloons were released with attached postcards naming the donors at Drake's Homecoming game halftime. Preceding the game the bike-a-thon was underway. Of the 550 cards returned, the one coming the greatest distances arrived from Quebec Canada! This photograph was featured on pg. 19 of the Winter 1980 issue of The Key.
