Beta Pi Chapter House with "ICE" on Roof Photograph, c. 1948

The exterior of the Beta Pi Chapter house at 4504 18th Ave NE with "ICE" painted on the roof. A long-standing tradition began in 1916 by the Fijis who climbed onto the roof of the chapter house where they painted "ICE." After that Beta Pi was known as the "ice house." This photograph was featured on page 19 of the February 1949 issue of The Key.
