This 24-page scrapbook, created by former Grand Registrar Cleora Wheeler, documents her research regarding the myth that an image of a key appeared on the back cover of the very first issue of The Golden Key, printed in May 1882. The book contains correspondence and excerpts from The Key that allowed Wheeler to prove that a key was featured on the front--not the back--of the issue. The scrapbook features soft covers of red, green, and gold decorative paper. A label with "The Myth" written on it is pasted to the front cover, and the pages are tied together with a gold-colored cord.
